Anna graduated from Kansas State University in 2005 with a B.A. in History. After spending five years as an educator and substitute teacher in the PK-12 classrooms at Sioux Falls Christian Schools, she decided to pursue a secondary teaching certificate. She graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 2012 with a Master's Degree of Education in Teaching and has been working as a Social Studies teacher at the Lutheran High School of Sioux Falls since the Fall of 2012.

What is the best part of teaching at Lutheran High?  The best part about teaching at Lutheran High is the intimate, family-like atmosphere and the ability to share, discuss, and implement my Christian faith in the classrooms. And the students are great to work with!

What hobbies do you enjoy? My hobbies are photography, cooking, spending time outdoors, and quality time with my husband and kids. I also love to read historical fiction when I have time!

What is your favorite flavor of ice-cream? In Sweden, where I was born and raised, ice cream is an art. In any given ice cream shop you can find dozens of fun flavors. Some of my more quirky favorites are black liquorice, melon, and lavender!

Where else can we find you in the community? I'm a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Sioux Falls where I volunteer in many different teaching and non-teaching capacities.

What is your favorite Bible verse?  Proverbs 9:10. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” What this verse tells me is that any pursuit of wisdom and knowledge is in vain unless we first have a relationship with God. That’s why a Christian education is so important!
