Most enjoyable aspects of your teaching ministry: Every day coming to this school is a joy! It blows my mind that I am paid to teach what I love, be around these wonderful groups of students, and be immersed in such a small and devoted group of teachers and parents.

What are you most looking forward to about the upcoming school year? Every year I look forward to knowing our amazing group of students and learning everything I can from them and from my fellow teachers. One of my greatest joys is seeing a student grow throughout the year, and those individual moments when the "light bulb" goes off and I can clearly see it in their eyes. It's pure awesome!

What are your hobbies? Well, I'm kind of a nerd. I feel like I'm always researching stuff... even in my "free time." Most everything interests me. I love to read, especially classic literature (such as Dostoyevsky). I make it a priority to read the Church Fathers, including John Chrysostom, St. Athanasius, Basil the Great, and many more. Other than that, I enjoy riding bikes; I help my dad on his farm during planting and harvest; my wife and I enjoy traveling; oh! and I collect vintage Superman comics.

What is your favorite flavor of ice-cream? Oh, I'm up for anything! Except sherbet... you can keep the sherbet.

What is your favorite Bible verse? "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom." Luke 12:32

Tell us about your college education. I am a 2013 graduate of Concordia University, Nebraska, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a field endorsement in Social Studies. Before that, I completed a two-year General Biblical Studies program in 2009 from the Association Free Lutheran Bible School (AFLBS) in Plymouth, MN. I enjoy the challenge of higher education, and I hope to return to earn a Masters.
